On behalf of Correos y Telégrafos de Guatemala, we would like to inform you of the temporary suspension of all international mail services from 21 November to 15 January 2017. This temporary suspension is due to staffing and logistical difficulties. This results in long delays in the processing of all incoming and outgoing international mail and parcel shipments. On behalf of the postal operators of Bolivia, Ecuador & Honduras we would like to inform you that the shipping routes for these countries are closed due to a carrier embargo. Both the inbound and outbound operations are affected. For destination Ecuador a reduced inbound load capacity is available. Please expect delays in the processing and delivery of your mail and parcel shipments. Currently, we are exploring different delivery routes to ensure delays are kept to a minimum. On behalf of Correos de Costa Rica, we would like to inform you that Costa Rica has been experiencing torrential rain and strong winds, especially in the northern and Caribbean regions of the country, as a result of Hurricane Otto. This extreme weather has affected transportation infrastructure (roads, bridges and ports), as well as telecommunications, with the resulting impacts on the national postal network. This will lead to delays in mail processing and delivery.

Earlier we have informed you about the strong earthquakes that have severely affected Central Italy during the night of the 24th of August. Poste Italiane (IT) informs that in the areas affected by the earthquake Poste Italiane is fully operational for both collection and delivery. Nevertheless, people who have lost their homes due to the earthquake have been moved into other areas of the country, therefore it is recommended that you inform your customers to ensure the new receivers’ addresses before shipping. On behalf of Australia Post we’d like to inform you about a strike between the 9th of September and the 12th of September, by staff of the Department of Immigration and Border Protection who are responsible for customs clearance in all inbound offices of exchange. The strike has ended formally, but could potentially cause delays to inbound mail sent in the week before the 9th of September. Backlogs built during the strike could cause potential delays to extend to the week after (September 12 – 18). Apologies for any inconvenience that may be caused by this strike and we thank you for your understanding.
