Last December we informed you on the situation in Bolivia, Ecuador, Honduras and Peru. Due to embargo’s the shipping routes to these destinations were closed.
We can now inform you that the situation in Bolivia, Ecuador and Honduras is back to normal.

For destination Peru we opened alternative routes and while we still encounter some delay, the situation is quickly improving,

On behalf of Hellenic Post we wish to inform you on the following: Since 7th of January, heavy snow storms have started at the north areas and the islands of Greece with extremely low temperatures. These snowstorms have been extended to the rest of the country and as of yesterday they cover also the area of Athens. The meteorologists said that this is the worst situation over the last 40 years and this will continue at least till Thursday. Due to these snowstorms, some domestic flights have been cancelled and serious problems in collection and delivery at all affected areas have occurred.

On behalf of Posta Romana we would like to inform you that since 6 January until 9 January, heavy winter conditions affected certain parts of Romania. Transportation networks (roads, railways) were blocked by snow blizzards. As a results, the collection and delivery of mail and parcels was interrupted or significantly delayed in the respective areas. The weather forecasts for the next 24 hours states further worsening of meteorological conditions in the same areas in south eastern Romania. This will lead to further delays in mail processing and delivery.

Earlier we informed you that due to service limitations imposed by airlines, coupled by extremely heavy peak volumes, there is presently congestion for airmail to some destinations in US. As a result we’re currently encountering delays on all outgoing mail and parcel delivery services to US. On behalf of the designated operator of the United States of America we would like to inform you that all of the five offices of exchange of the United States Postal Service are open and receiving mail. Please note that there are no embargos. Due to limited ground-handler staffing and equipment, coupled with the heavy peak volumes, all offices of exchange are experiencing heavy congestion. We will continue to take measures to minimize the impact and we will keep you informed of developments.

Earlier we have informed you about the strong earthquakes that have severely affected Central Italy during the night of the 24th of August. Poste Italiane (IT) informs that in the areas affected by the earthquake Poste Italiane is fully operational for both collection and delivery. Nevertheless, people who have lost their homes due to the earthquake have been moved into other areas of the country, therefore it is recommended that you inform your customers to ensure the new receivers’ addresses before shipping.
