PostNL employs more than 65,000 people whose efforts ensure that we meet the expectations of our customers each and every day.
As an employer, it’s up to us to show our employees the same level of dedication and commitment. We do this by creating a work environment in which they feel valued, a place where they can do their job safely and with pleasure.
Most importantly, we treat each other with respect, as fellow human beings. That applies not just to the people currently working at PostNL and to future employees, but also to our colleagues forced to leave the company prematurely.
Mobility: “from work to work”
Ongoing digitisation and increasing competition in the postal market means we will unfortunately have to say goodbye to a large number of colleagues.
It’s our duty to ensure that’s done in a responsible way, with the emphasis on voluntary mobility. That’s why, under certain conditions, we cover any shortfall in salary for employees who have found a new job. We also provide one-on-one career counselling to help employees find alternative employment.
At the centre of our assisted reemployment efforts is our Mobility agency, whose advisors and job coaches help employees find suitable work. They also provide employees with practical assistance in writing cover letters and preparing for a job interview.
Since its launch in 2006, our Mobility programme has already helped more than five thousand employees find a new future outside the company.
We want all our employees to feel at home at PostNL. We want to create an environment where people enjoy coming to work, and where everyone has the opportunity to show their talent, regardless of nationality, sex, age, political views, religious beliefs or sexual preference.
It is not only our people who benefit but also the company as a whole. Research has shown that diversity in an organisation leads to greater job satisfaction and productivity.
At PostNL we feel strongly about truly giving our employees the opportunity to get the best out of themselves. We do this by applying the Investor in People certification standards to align individual ambitions and goals with those of the company.
Everyone has the right to a safe workplace. The OHSAS 18001 standard sets a number of basic criteria for workplace health and safety. It also provides a framework for continuous improvement, on a local level. After all, no two workplaces are alike. PostNL aims to comply with, and exceed the criteria of the OHSAS 18001 standard.
